Daemonaz' Sanctuary http://www.saunalahti.fi/~piah/

Barathrum's previous albums weren't really convincing and unfortunately the same can be said of Okkult. The music is
still too simple with only one or two main guitar riffs in every song. Okkult just keeps on going at the same low tempo;
lead breaks and speed changes are far and few between. Although this can be enjoyable to a certain degree, it also tends
to bore really quickly.

In earlier days one might have called Barathrum a cult and underground band but nowadays even this status seems not
justified anymore. Although still many songs seem to have been written some years ago, Barathrum unfortunately even added
some pompous melodic keyboards to one song ("I am very Possessed"), giving it a cheap popular atmospheric sound.

The production of this album is very good and this album certainly won't disappoint diehard Barathrum fans. Although this
album has some good parts (the guitar riff in "Bride of Lucifer" for instance) it lacks the needed variety to be
convincing. If you like more challenging music I advice you not to bother with this album.
