Barathrum is the perfect example for the 'cult' black metal band that almost everyone has heard of, but that in fact
almost no one has ever listened to, apart from some pure underground freaks. Part of the extreme Finnish scene 10 years
ago, along with Beherit or Impaled Nazarene, Barathrum are releasing here already their 6th album with 'Okkult', and for
the first time, they haven't got a crappy sound, far from that! But as they're growing older, they are getting quieter,
and are now playing mid tempo (with an almost doom drummer) and melodic black metal: 'I Am Very Possessed' is for example
a lot closer to a tired Dimmu Borgir than to an hyperblastic Marduk, and you could almost sing 'The Darkness Has Landed'
while having a shower. Less extreme musically speaking then, but still fucked up with the lyrics ('Virgin Blood Spiller'
or 'Magic In Atmosphere') and the rest, with a cover artwork that will please the amateurs of German porno with pregnant
